1 What Is Responsible Gaming and Why Does It Matter
Responsible gaming means treating gaming as a form of entertainment — not a source of income, an emotional outlet, or an escape from problems. At GB22, we believe every player deserves a positive and enjoyable experience.
Online gaming is growing rapidly in Bangladesh. But without proper awareness, it's easy to spend more time or money than intended. Following responsible gaming principles is the simplest way to stay in control.
GB22 is more than a gaming platform — we're building a responsible community where every member can enjoy entertainment in a healthy way.
Core Principles: Gaming is for entertainment — not a solution to life's problems. Before placing any bet, ask yourself: am I doing this for fun, or for some other reason?
2 Core Principles of Healthy Gaming
Responsible gaming isn't about rigid rules — it's about simple habits that make your gaming experience more enjoyable.
- Set a Budget: Set a monthly limit on how much BDT you're willing to spend on gaming — and stick to it no matter what.
- Keep track of time: Set a daily time limit for how long you play. Never let gaming eat into time meant for sleep, family, or work.
- Never chase your losses: "Chasing losses" — placing bigger bets to try to recover lost money — is one of the most dangerous habits a player can develop.
- Don't make decisions based on emotion: Avoid gaming when you're feeling down, angry, or under stress.
- Take regular breaks: Take breaks in between — don't play for long stretches without stopping.
- Let Your Family Know: You play online games — that's not something you should have to hide from your family.
- Don't play under the influence of alcohol or drugs: It's hard to make sound decisions when you're in that state.
3 GB22's Responsible Gaming Tools
GB22 has built a set of practical tools to help every member stay in control of their own gaming.
Deposit Limit
You can set a maximum daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limit. Once set, the limit takes effect within 24 hours — but increasing it requires a 7-day waiting period, to prevent impulsive decisions.
Time Limits & Reality Check
After a set period of play, GB22 will automatically notify you how long you've been gaming. This "Reality Check" helps keep you aware and in control.
Cooling-Off & Self-Exclusion
If you feel like you need a short break, you can take a cooling-off period ranging from 24 hours to 6 weeks. For a longer break, use the self-exclusion option — this lets you close your account for anywhere between 6 months and 5 years.
Keep in mind: Do not attempt to open a new account during your self-exclusion period. GB22 monitors for this kind of activity and will act on it immediately.
4 How to Recognize Signs of Addiction
Gaming addiction often develops gradually and can be hard to recognise on your own. Watch out for these warning signs:
- Being unable to stop gaming or constantly finding yourself coming back to it.
- Spending more time or money than you planned.
- Gaming causing problems at work, with family, or in personal relationships.
- Placing more bets in hopes of winning back money you've already lost.
- Feeling restless or anxious when you're unable to play.
- Hiding your gaming activity or lying about how much you play.
- Gaming with borrowed money or by dipping into savings.
If two or more of these signs apply to you, seek help right away. Reach out to GB22's support team or speak with a professional counsellor.
5 The Role of Family & Loved Ones
A player's gaming habits don't just affect them — they affect the whole family. If you notice a loved one spending excessive time or money on gaming, have an open and honest conversation with them.
With GB22's Parental Control feature, parents can restrict minors from accessing the platform. If you think someone in your family may be struggling with a gaming addiction, reach out to our support team directly — we're here to help families too.
